Events + Tourism

The current situation

The event and tourism sector is one of Germany’s most important economic sectors, and exhibits significantly above-average growth when compared with its European counterparts. Its core areas are the hotel and restaurant segment, tour operators and travel agencies, airlines, shipping companies, rail operators, bus companies and car rental firms. In addition to event marketing companies, event organizers and agencies, our clients also include businesses in the cultural and entertainment segments. These segments provide 2.8 million jobs, and generate around 57 billion Euros of gross value each year (source: current study by the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftliche Strukturforschung (GWS)). It is nevertheless to be noted that revenue is highly dependent on seasonal and economic fluctuation. Whilst special occasions such as anniversaries, the awarding of national and international prizes and major events have a stimulating effect on the sector, adverse weather conditions and political or economic uncertainty can cause considerable damage to it.

How we respond

As a result of its dependency on the economy, the event and tourism sector is amongst the most planning- and management-intensive sectors of the economy. We place particular emphasis on reliable liquidity planning in order to ensure that our clients remain flexible and have room to manoeuvre at all times. In the case of larger investments, we begin by providing support in the form of budget calculations which facilitate investment decisions before going on to assist our clients in the design of their financial framework.
